  • When the architect, Jack Nicklaus, describes an opportunity as his “chance to design his own Pebble Beach,” it’s prudent his efforts and the subsequent outcome follow through. As he famously did throughout his illustrious career, The Golden Bear managed to surpass expectations with Cabo del Sol’s Ocean Course. Garnering praise for having “the finest three finishing holes in golf,” it seems only fitting that this breathtaking 7,091-yard layout has managed to work its way onto the list of the “Top 100 courses in the world” on several occasions.

Not to be outdone is Tom Weiskopf’s onsite companion, the Desert Course. With mesmerizing views of the ocean from all 18 holes, canyon-like arroyos and diverse foliage serve as penal yet beautiful surroundings, guiding this inland track from start to finish. Undulating greens, varying elevation changes, and dramatic bunkering pose significant challenges to visitors of all abilities on this 18-hole track that opened in December of 2001. A variety of teeing options allows for the golfer to choose his or her desired length, which can range from 4,810 to 7,100 yards. High above the water below, the sea meets the sky on the horizon to create a scenic background you won’t soon forget.

Utilizing the Sea of Cortez, deep arroyos, towering cacti, and the rolling hills native to the land, Jack
Nicklaus managed to design and create the famous 27-hole venue that is Palmilla Golf Club. Comprised of three equally challenging nines, Palmilla is widely recognized as the “Grand Dame" of Los Cabos golf. Known for being Nicklaus’ first creation in Latin America, The Mountain Course, The Ocean Course, and The Arroyo Course can be played in any combination to offer a unique experience that will prove as challenging as it is delightful.
