  • This golf vacation in North  Wales gives you the opportunity to experience a fantastic selection of renowned championship links courses including; Nefyn & District, Royal St David’sConwy and Aberdovey. With spectacular scenery and uncrowded courses, you play at your pace…golf as it should be! At Royal St David’s you have what is widely regarded as one of the toughest Par 69s in the world, whilst at Conwy you have a course that has been described by Golf Punk magazine as having ‘a tightness of fairway that would have even Jim Furyk reaching for his hip flask’! Playing golf in North Wales is a real treat, but not for the faint hearted, and can easily be combined with a trip to England’s Golf Coast around Liverpool and Southport.

  • Tee Times
Many of the golf courses you will wish to play are private golf clubs and therefore have limited tee times and restrictions on visitor play. Often demand outstrips supply, so it is never too early to begin planning your golf vacation.

    Attire in Golf Clubhouses
Most golf clubs allow visitors to use their clubhouse facilities, including the locker rooms and dining areas. Over the last decade, golf clubs have relaxed their dress codes, however we recommend taking a pair of street shoes (not sneakers) to avoid any issues.

    Caddies and Carts
The majority of the links courses have caddies available because, traditionally, they are walking courses, however we will often need to book them in advance for you. Caddies are self-employed and supply can change on a daily basis.

With regards golf carts, these can be hard to come by on the traditional links courses and in some cases do not even exist! As with caddies, please request carts at the time of booking with us and we will do our best to reserve them for you.

    Practice Facilities
These are not quite as abundant as they are at US golf courses, and you may struggle to find a practice range (or a conveniently located one) at the great, classic links courses in the UK and Ireland.

Even if you do manage to find one, don’t be surprised if you have to purchase range ball tokens from the Pro Shop and self-serve!

    Halfway Houses and Beverage Carts
Most of these great links golf courses were designed to play nine holes out (away from the clubhouse) followed by nine holes back, with no halfway house. Be prepared to carry refreshments in your golf bag to keep you going for the whole round. Similarly, there are very few (if any) beverage/refreshment carts at these courses as it is not customary to drink alcohol whilst playing golf in the UK and Ireland.

    Handicap Restrictions
Many of the golf courses have handicap restrictions for visiting golfers and will require to see official proof of your handicap. The primary reason for this is to ensure only seasoned golfers visit these courses and don’t hold up play.

    The Weather
The weather in this part of the world can be unpredictable, and you do need to be prepared for all kinds at any time of year. Having said that, in order to get the full UK and Ireland golf experience, every golfer should relish a dose of challenging weather at least once during their stay!

Although it is possible to play golf year-round, we view April as the start of the season. For the avid golfer who is looking to play 36 holes (or more) in one day, June and July have the longest daylight hours with play possible until 10pm!
